Los Angeles RAID Server Recovery

Information on Recovering Data from Different RAID Levels

Our files are practically fifty, if not seventy-five percent of our computer. A lot of them are so important to us that we cannot even imagine the depth of damage if we lose our files. Thus, there are some people who make it a habit to back up their files. If you have been taking computer security precautions seriously, you may not view backing-up your files as an immediate necessity. After all, your computer has the best anti-virus software, and you are the only person using it. You may think that with a reliable anti-virus, a strong firewall, and updated programs, your files are completely safe and nothing can ever go wrong. But what if your computer suddenly crashes?

What is RAID?

RAID is a short term for redundant array of independent disks. As the name suggests, it is a data storage that combines the capacity of different disks to create data redundancy to improve memory storage and overall computer performance. It has different levels, each serving a different use from the other seeking to deliver a single purpose—to store your files. These levels are known by number, from RAID 0 to RAID 6.

How can something go wrong?

You might think that it is an invincible server, given that it is made up of multiple disks. You have to understand though that these are interconnected, and one disk would not really be able to function without the others. To illustrate, just imagine that something goes terribly wrong on RAID 0, is there a need for you to worry when you have 6 more levels functioning perfectly? The answer is yes, because level 1 would not be able to function without 0, while 2 will not be able to work without 1, so on. If something goes wrong with just one level, you need to get it fixed so it will function normally again.

What does RAID have to do with my files?

As what we have mentioned above, once your RAID server gets into trouble, then all of your files are at risk. What’s worse is that if you are not one of those people who back up their data, then your data could become inaccessible. Just imagine not being able to access your documents, papers, records, family pictures, videos of valued memories and events that are never going to happen again, along with important financial statements of your business.

RAID and Server Data Recovery

To be able to get your data back, you need to perform RAID server recovery. This is the way to recover lost or damaged files due to RAID failure. If you are equipped with the proper equipment and software programs to perform a RAID server recovery on your own, then it’s your call to attempt to do so. However, remember that it can be very difficult as RAIDs have different levels, not to mention that a failed attempt can potentially lead to even more damage. Save time and cost by leaving RAID server recovery to experts.
